Special offer to NGOs

Free admission is available for the first two registrants with the same NGO. To be eligible for the offer, you must be one of the first two individuals from your organization to register and successfully submit payment for admission. A refund of the registration fee will be applied against the credit card used, AFTER completion of the conference. If you have any questions relating to this offer, please use our contact form.

If you received an email with information about travel support, you must apply to receive it; only limited funds are available. For that, you may send your resume and a one paragraph statement explaining your interest to Eligible expenses include the flight or lodging, to be reimbursed with proper receipts after the conference. See information below about visas.

Financial Support for Poster Presenters

Limited funds are available to support students presenting accepted posters at the conference. Support includes free conference registration and up to $250 in travel expenses for students traveling in Latin America and up to $500 for students traveling outside of Latin America. To be considered, please submit a poster presentation as well as a PDF containing the below documentation before May 9, 2014.

  • your resume
  • a statement (< 1 page) about why you are interested in the humanitarian sector
  • a transcript
  • a reference letter from an advisor
  • an estimate of your expenses for the conference

*Poster presenter pays registration fee up front and will be reimbursed after the conference. He or she must present valid travel expense receipts and will be reimbursed for the total amount up to $250 in for those traveling within Latin America and up to $500 for those traveling from outside of Latin America. Valid travel expenditures must be directly related to conference attendance (airline tickets, lodging, other transportation such as taxis, public transport, parking, rental car, gas mileage, etc.). Meals and coffee breaks provided as part of the conference will not be covered. The person named as the poster presenter in the online application must submit original receipts to conference organizers. After "expense report" is approved, a reimbursement for travel expenses will be processed.

Visa Application Process for Mexico

For those applicants from the following countries ( who require a visa to visit Mexico, please read the instructions outlined at the following website: After reading the instructions, please email Tanya Vergara ( to request a letter from Tecnologico de Monterrey (Conference host institution in Mexico) in support of your visa application. You will need to provide the following information in this e-mail:

  1. Full name of the applicant
  2. name of the organization he or she works for
  3. full applicant contact details
  4. duration and purpose of stay in Mexico
  5. official ID of the person writing letter
  6. official address of the Mexican Embassy where you will apply for visa and where we should mail letter

When we receive the information by e-mail, we will submit a letter to the Embassy in your country of application and confirm the details with you by e-mail. Please email or with any additional questions.
