Mallory Freeman

Lead Data Scientist

Dr. Mallory Freeman is currently the Lead Data Scientist in UPS’s Advanced Technology Group in Atlanta. She received her Ph.D. from the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech, with a specialization in Supply Chain Engineering. Prior to pursuing her PhD at Georgia Tech, she received a B.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2007 and an M.S. degree in Operations Research from MIT in 2009. Her research interests include humanitarian supply chain, stable matching theory, and performance measurement. She has been involved in a number of projects with the Center for Health & Humanitarian Systems, including optimization of the food aid supply chain, humanitarian staff reassignment, transportation network bottleneck management, allocation of limited resources (e.g. blood or vaccines), malaria prevention logistics, and HIV clinic integration.Most recently, she participated in a collaboration with the UN World Food Programme on behalf of the HHS Center, on a Supply Chain Key Performance Indicator project in addition to serving as a consultant for other supply chain optimization initiatives.
