Santosh Vempala

Frederick G. Storey Chair II
Computer Science/ Computing 4 Good (C4G)

Santosh Vempala is currently a Distinguished Professor in the School of Computer Science. His research interests are in the theory of  algorithms and the foundations of machine learning. In 2008, he founded the Computing-for-Good (C4G) initiative at Georgia Tech, which now consists of a service-centered course taught every year by CoC faculty and year-round projects with deployments around the world. He enjoys thinking about math problems, even though he usually gets stuck. At the moment, he is wondering about neurally-plausible learning algorithms and how he should choose his passwords.
