On April 19th, 2017 the Georgia Tech Center for Health & Humanitarian Systems (CHHS) brought together faculty across campus to present new research and technology relating to resilience, social impact, public health, international development, and other topics.

Health Systems: The Next Generation 2016

CHHS hosted a 1-day event September 16, 2016 focused on improving health systems with leaders from across the fields of healthcare delivery and operations. The event included panel sessions on “Industry Trends in Healthcare Delivery," “Educating the Next Generation in Health Systems” and "Alumni Response: What Should GT Do?", as well as presentations and posters on new research.

 


 

Comprehensive Disaster Response: Much more than short-term humanitarian relief

Todd Shea from Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS Pakistan) and Colonel Abrar Ismail of the Pakistani Earthquake Response and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) visited ISyE and the HHS Center to present on the comprehensive nature of disaster response, from the necessity of pre-planning to response activities, coordination & collaboration, and long-term development.

Training humanitarian IEs

"Industrial Engineer" Managing Editor Michael Hughes interviews the three co-directors of Georgia Tech's Center for Health and Humanitarian Logistics, which was founded in 2007. The center works to transform the humanitarian sector by applying IE tools to groups that respond to natural and man-made disasters.
