The 11th annual Conference on Health & Humanitarian Logistics (HHL) is co-organized by the Georgia Tech Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems, NC State, INSEAD Humanitarian Research Group, MIT Humanitarian Response Lab, and Northeastern University with support from The International Association of Public Health Logisticians, and People that Deliver.
Since its inauguration in 2008, the conference has traveled to various countries around the world (including the Unites States of America, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, Denmark and United Arab Emirates).
As the world increasingly faces health and humanitarian challenges in numerous communities around the world, it is essential to bring NGOs, private industry, government, academia, and others together to examine and discuss present and future priorities, practices, and strategies surrounding these critical areas. The primary objectives of the conference are to articulate the opportunities and challenges in humanitarian response and global health, both from a public and a corporate/economic perspective, create awareness for innovation and collaboration, and establish priorities for NGOs, corporations, and governments in terms of their strategies, policies, and investments.
The Conference will be hosted in Kigali, which is the capital of Rwanda, and an economic, cultural, and transport hub. Like many other countries around the world, Rwanda has experienced both challenges and great advancements in various areas including internal conflict, health systems, economic progress, and sustainable development. It is a great location to bring together professionals active in the global health and humanitarian sectors around the world.
